Lesson 2

Today we presented a powerpoint which we had created in the same groups as last week, and on the same artist too. Except this time we focused more detailedly on one specific image.

The image we had chosen was entitled The Daughters and was taken is 2002. (opinion) I think this image shows

Based on the elements used last week, here is some of our points in analysis:

Perspective was neutral like many of her other images and felt as though it was in a first person perspective

.Colours within the image compliment each other subtly and there isn’t any harsh contrasts making the image a very family like photo. (why)

Patterns present are mainly seen on clothes, the walls, and chairs among others. This help add little bursts of eye catching objects that cause the viewer to look at different parts of the image. Also, the patterned wall and objects help make it seem as though more space is being taken up. (this causes…). Depth of field, also like many other images, is long and shows everything in focus. The lighting is also balanced, adding to the fact that this is a neutral shot of this family. (add how these elements  make me feel something about the image or how they gave me the certain opinion

Later that day, we had researched a few words based on topics such as abstract expressionist photography and the butterfly effect, also two topics that we had to research in more detail.
